Common Signs of a Sleep Disorder:
- Snoring during sleep: Snoring is not normal and is often referred to as the bodys “Check enginge light”
- Breathing stops during sleep
- Excessively tired during the day
- Difficulty falling asleep or remaining asleep
Common Sleep Disorders:
- Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) Sufferers stop breathing during the night. It typically occurs in people that snore and usually results from obstruction of the upper airway
- Insomnia -The inability to fall or stay asleep. Consuming alcohol or stimulants, such as cafiene or amphetamines, and certain other drugs and medications may worsen this condition.
- Narcolepsy-Narcolepsy is characterized by excessive sleepiness during the day.
- Movement Disorders -Periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD) and restless leg syndrome (RLS) are two common movement disorders. PLMD, repetitive cramping or jerking of the legs, affects people during sleep, and RLS, an irrisistible urge to move the legs while at rest, affects those still awake.
- Other Sleep Disorders – We also diagnose night terrors, sleep walking and other sleep-related complaints.

To evaluate your sleep disorder your physician may recommend a sleep study be performed in our diagnostic center. We will obtain as much information available about your sleep habits, sleep history, medical history, and sleep problems. We will work with your physician to make sure you get the right diagnosis and treatment for your condition.
